About

Pathwaves was founded in 2019 by Jane Arnison. Our inaugral event took place at Red Bull Studios Berlin.

In creating Pathwaves, Jane wanted to offer an environment in world class studios where female & gender diverse producers and engineers can increase their technical experience and confidence so they can be considered as major players in the commercial music industry. The initiative is also an opportunity to grow networks and raise the general visibility of underrepresented people in the music industry.

In 2020, with thanks to Initiative Musik Germany and key sponsors Ableton, Native Instruments, BIMM Institute and Adam Audio, we again welcomed applications from producers and engineers from all over the world. Due to the covid pandemic we had to restrict applications to the local Berlin area. Ultimately we had to put the event online and created a hybrid program where we offered the best of the program online. We did manage to get into the studio however. This time it was the newly opened Brewery Studios in Berlin.

In 2021 we have been funded by Musicboard Berlin and a hybrid online and studio event takes place from September - December. This years event is starting with online events open to everyone and ending with the more exclusive studio event where a smaller number of participants will be selected. Along with special guests and masterclasses we have added new features such as networking events and producer meet ups.

We are always exploring new ways to best connect with our community and support your development so that we add real value and support sustained growth. We look forward to welcoming you at the online events and to receiving your application to be part of the much loved studio events!
